Here is an insane modified mini, it sports a V6 24 valve Cosworth engine and, we guess that to handle the power a wide body conversion was absolutely necessary. The Mid Life Crisis sticker on the drivers door is a nice touch and tells us a bit about the driver. If this is what a mid life crisis does for you then I say bring it on.
The black alloys go well with the yellow bodywork and the two stripes set off the car nicely. When styling a retro car like this one we often see modern bodykits fitted which is a shame. This owner has managed to keep the retro look and feel of the original but still turn it into something special. This car has many hand fabricated components and the bodykit is made from sheet steel and seam welded.
The only thing hinting at the performance here is the subtle twin exhausts and the barely noticeable stickers on the boot lid.
No performance car would be complete without a rear spoiler and this mini has a high rear wing mounted to give a little bit of downforce. This rear view also shows how well the bodykit and flared arches have been blended into the bodywork.
An update for 2014…
Engine tuning has pushed the power up giving a 6 second sprint to 60mph, the rear has lost 8 inches in total and the interior has been lovingly re-trimmed in yellow and black leather.
