Cars that were on the road the same time as the horse and cart still shared many similar features. This car saw the driver sitting opposite the passengers. Although the passengers were seated lower than the driver it was still quite difficult to see the road ahead. Although the seats look pretty crude and uncomfortable by todays standards they were actually quite comfortable. Due to the lack of a roof it was not the sort of car you would take out in the rain! In these days there were no NCAP ratings, instead a man walked in front carrying a flag!
